The National Building Agency's Planning and Urban Design Section provides a planning consultancy service to Local Authorities, State and Semi-State bodies. This service includes preparation of the following plans and studies:

- Integrated Area Plans
- Town Renewal Scheme Plans

- Environmental Appraisals (Strategic Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments).
Our work also includes various specialist planning studies/advice, including land use zoning, housing strategies, retail strategies, housing land availability studies, recreation feasibility studies, regeneration plans, record of protected structures, architectural conservation areas, neighbourhood and community plans.
The National Building Agency's Planning and Urban Design Section offers a fully comprehensive plan preparation process that includes detailed survey and analysis, incorporating public consultation techniques and including the preparation of all statutory Manager's Reports required under the Planning and Development Act, 2000-2006.
The Planning and Urban Design team provides a multi-disciplinary approach that includes:
