ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION

The National Building Agency offers an Architectural Conservation service to complement its diverse range of professional design and construction consultancy services. Conservation services include research, analysis, survey and investigation for the conservation, maintenance and repair of protected structures, historic properties and archaeological monuments, based on extensive scientific research and practical experience in conservation.
Work comprises planning advice including planning application appraisals and recommendations, conservation reports and archaeological reports, building recording and archival research, recommendations and specifications on conservation and repair, analysis and diagnosis of the decay and failure of building materials, testing of conservation treatments, the design of historic replica lime mortars, and on-site guidance and monitoring of conservation works.
The Agency’s consultancy is based on the most up-to-date research in the conservation field, tailoring information and diagnostic requirements to the specific needs of the project. We advise a range of clients including architects, engineers, developers, building contractors, management companies, surveyors, art historians, conservators, and archaeologists.
The National Building Agency Limited is accredited Grade II in the RIAI Accreditation System for Conservation.
